Hundreds of Global Dolby Laboratories Employees Engage in their Local Communities through Annual Dolby Cares Day Campaign

Dolby employees are providing thousands of hours of volunteer service in 20 global Dolby communities in less than three months

SAN FRANCISCO, May 10, 2019 -- Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) employees and community partners participate in the annual Dolby Cares Day – the company’s global volunteer effort spanning the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific between April and June. This commitment to service is part of the Dolby Cares program, combining the company’s unique intersection of art and science to inspire the next generation of innovators and address communities’ most critical needs.

Since launching in 2014, Dolby Cares has experienced exponential growth, with over 5,600 volunteer hours and $3.1M in grants and matching gifts donated in Fiscal Year 2018.

Doug Replogle, Staff Audio Systems Engineer, Dolby Laboratories, is an ongoing employee volunteer with 826 Valencia and during Dolby Cares Day, worked with students in crafting poems about their personal identities and helped them prepare their written work to be recorded as a podcast. Previously, he has actively implemented technology on-site at the 826 Valencia Tenderloin Center in helping design their Podcasting booths and has volunteered helping edit students podcasts. Dolby is a founding partner of Code Tenderloin, an intensive job readiness program  in the Tenderloin near Dolby's San Francisco headquarters. Kevin Yeaman, President and CEO, Dolby Laboratories, participated on a career building panel for Code Tenderloin clients where Dolby employees shared their work and life experiences. Employee volunteers also provided support by helping participants create and practice “elevator pitches” and a professional photographer was onsite to take shots of Code Tenderloin participants for their online professional profiles.
