Dolby Congratulates 92nd Academy Award Winners Including “Parasite,” “1917,” “Ford v Ferrari,” “Toy Story 4”

Award recipients illustrate the power of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos at Hollywood’s biggest night

LOS ANGELES, February 9, 2020 – Dolby Laboratories celebrates the incredible winners of the 92nd Academy Awards utilizing Dolby’s immersive technologies within their groundbreaking films. Dolby is proud to partner with filmmakers, artists, and creatives who have utilized Dolby Vision imaging – providing incredible brightness, contrast, and color – and the immersive, flowing audio of Dolby Atmos to bring their characters and stories to the next level. 

 

  • Dolby technologies were in 11 Oscar winning films this year. 
  • Since the release of "Star Wars" in 1978, movies with Dolby sound technology have won 68 Oscars in the categories of Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Sound Effects Editing. 
  • The 92nd Academy Awards marked the eighth year the Oscars was held at the Dolby Theatre.
